Anita Hakim, Founder of Therapeace, LPC, MA
Anita Hakim, a fully Licensed Professional Counselor, is the founder of Therapeace Michigan, a practice dedicated to providing compassionate consulting and coaching services for adults, teens, and couples navigating challenges like stress, anxiety, worry, and depression. With a heartfelt commitment to mental health, Anita brings years of expertise and a personal approach to her work, ensuring her clients feel supported in a safe and informed environment.
After earning her undergraduate degree in marketing from Wayne State University, Anita felt called to a new path. In 2012, she completed her master's degree in counseling from Oakland University, including an internship at William Beaumont Hospital. Anita passed the rigorous National Counselor Examination (NCE) and completed thousands of supervised clinical hours to earn her full licensure. Today, she is deeply grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact in others' lives.
Outside her work, Anita enjoys spending time with her family and friends, listening to music, keeping up with fashion, and indulging in donuts. For her, therapy is a journey of building a trusting alliance rooted in compassion, authenticity, and respect. She understands the unique experiences of each individual and tailors her therapeutic approach to meet those distinct needs.
Anita looks forward to hearing her clients’ stories, helping them find strength, clarity, and peace on their paths to healing. "We never know what life will throw at us," she says, "but together, we can navigate it."
